Triumph TR5/6

HEALEY HEIR APPARENT

TRs were always a cheaper alternative to the Jensen and Jaguar plus had a similar character. When, late in the day, the Triumph gained the trusty six-cylinder engine, it was hailed as the spiritual successor to the A-H although fuel injection problems made them less trustworthy – many were duly converted to carbs, just like the American spec models (pictured). The TR6 is by far the more plentiful and so cheaper to buy although prices on all are heading North. If you’re after a traditional classic that’s affordable and easy to own, few do it better than this Triumph or with such style and class.
