BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
The Saab qualifies for consideration here because its basic 1960’s style remained unchanged for decades yet under the skin the Swede was not only kept bang up to date, but also led the way in certain areas such as safety. Go for a turbo version (and particularly the later 9-3 Viggens) and there’s genuine sports car performance that can embarrass some super cars yet the Saab always retains its practicality and reliability making late models good, inexpensive, sensible daily drivers. Don’t worry about parts and repairs now the badge has sadly gone.
