CLASSIC OR CAT-ASTROPHE?

While you can’t call the XJ-S a sports car, it’s still a fine fast GT that’s better than many roadsters and still, 40 years since its launch, exceptional value. There’s two types of rag tops, the first being the ungainlylooking but quite sought after SC with its Stag-like torsional frame, and the proper convertible. A poor reputation and the fact that it wasn’t an E-type replacement has always gone against this capable and refined tourer. You’d think after all these decades the XJ-S would be a nailed-on classic but values don’t reflect this and there’s many shabby cats around which are on their last lives.
