CRAZY GOLF
£2700-£9000
Conceived as a roomier more upmarket replacement for the smaller Scirocco range – itself a serious BMW and Alfa beater – the superior Corrado remains a hugely underrated sportshatch. We’ve elected to highlight for the later Corrado over the Scirocco due to their great value (Sciroccos are becoming highly collectable) and is one of the best handling front-wheel drive cars ever, thanks to its Golf/Jetta-derived platform. Available in a wide range of engines the Corrado was almost a supercar in superb 190bhp VR6 Storm form yet offering Golf user-friendliness and versatility. The downsides include parts scarcity and finding an original rather than badly modified one.
