If an Alvis and Bristol we review elsewhere aren’t quite your style but you like the idea of a grand, grand tourer, check out this lucky thirteen that start from just two grand!

NOW A V8 GREAT

The fact that you can include this Triumph in such exalted company tells you how much the Stag has thrown off its ‘Snag’ tag. Now nicely matured into a mellow, reliable, easyowning roadster and coupé combined, the Stag is now the car it always should have been from the outset (thanks to the work of owners and specialists) although, despite delightful V8 power, it’s more GT than a sports car. If you’re after a cultured GT that’s more modern than a Bristol or Alvis and a lot easier to own and run, a Stag simply has to be on your shortlist.
