With summer almost here, thoughts turn to soft top sports cars and Triumph has a superb range of classics to suit all tastes and budgets…
Triumph is one of those wonderfully quintessential British car makers that was the ‘British BMW’ brand of its day and yet parent company British Leyland left this proud marque – that gave us so many great cars – to die suffering a sad and undignified ending.
Happily, the name lives on in the classic world and Triumph is arguably the most popular brand on the block. One of the chief reasons for its survival is due to the unstinting support of an army of model-specific and general marque owners’ clubs, all determined to keep the badge alive.
Best known of all the Triumph ranges is the terrific TR line up of sports cars which we are majoring on in this special buying guide. Spanning six generations over almost 70 years, there’s a model to suit all tastes and budgets that, thanks to a wide specialist base and owner’s club support, couldn’t be easier to own and run.
Always popular at shows, why not go along to a classic car event to see them in the flesh and talk to their owners to pool their experiences and advice? It will be of massive help and once you’ve bought your chosen TR, join an owners’ club to enjoy a great social scene that will make car ownership doubly desirable.
So what are you waiting for?
