A MODERN STAG?

The Scimitar GTC qualifies as an alternative because it’s a successful conversion from GTE sports hatch to a cabrio that by pure coincidence surfaced just as the Triumph bowed out and the GTC even uses a modified Stag soft top. Owners of this underrated Reliant swear it’s a better car than the Triumph and there is little wrong with how the Scimitar performs thanks to that lusty Ford V6. Value for money and yet rare, what the Scimitar lacks, is the class and stature of a Stag. But there again prices are lower.
