Opel’s answer to the Capri is a far more sophisticated bet, care of a better chassis for, in its day, great handling and superior build that was up to BMW standards before Vauxhalls were rebadged!. Mantas always deserved more go – even after the fuel injected body-kitted GTE was launched in the late 1980s – a Rover V8 fits a treat. Don’t forget the identical Vauxhall Cavalier Coupé or Sportshatch when looking. Spares and support will never be as good as a Capri but it’s out there.
