As magnificent as these Malvern marvels are, it’s stretching the point to regard a Morgan as a grand tourer, unless you are made of the sternest of stuff. But ride and comfort aside, Morgans are a pleasure to drive, or be in, because of their unique character. Plus 8s will always be the most regarded yet the four-cylinder versions offer just as much fun and don’t dismiss the later underrated Jag V6-powered Roadster which we reckon is as good as a Plus 8 and provides the sort of modern touches many enthusiasts – even hard care Morgan types – will appreciate. While spares and support are no problem, even from the factory, DIY isn’t as easy as their vintage make up always suggests.
