A JAPANESE JEWEL
This car ushered in Toyota’s new premium brand back in 1990 and despite the company being a newcomer to the upper crust club the Japanese knew the rules and also managed to rewrite a few of them – much to every rival’s chagrin – on how to make a luxury limo! The LS400 saloon was a car that took on and beat the establishment, matching the likes of Rollers and Mercs with worrying ease, plus boasted a reliability and owner satisfaction record that set records even Crewe’s cars couldn’t match! Great cars and even greater bargains but that’s because perhaps the Lexus lacks that essential sense of occasion.
