FAMOUS NAMES MAKE IT A CLASSIC TO WATCH
This was the car that Healey himself designed to replace his hairy-chested classic and, on paper at least, this milder mannered alternative was just right for the 1970s. A mixture of the Healey name, Jensen build and Lotus power (that matched the old Healey six from just 2-litres), should have been a winner but poor reliability and bad build, along with the mid ’70s energy crisis, killed the car before it had the chance to redeem itself. And that’s a shame because the MkII was a fine sports car and quite rightly the J-H is now starting to be finally appreciated. Spares and club support is good and values, while still low, are expected to rise, so buy now.
