FORGOTTEN FERRARI
There’s little arguing that the 400/412 coupé is not the most fancied Prancing Horse on the block but this V12 2+2 is a fine Ferrari. With in excess of 300bhp under the bonnet, it’s hardly a slouch although this thoroughbred is better suited for touring, a point underlined by the fact that some 70 per cent came as an automatic and pandered to a different type of Ferrari owner.
Happily, the handling and roadholding is quite surprising for the car’s girth and weight. Unlike many 2+2s, the Ferrari is almost a true four-seater with comfort and space for four plus their luggage. The worry is more down to cost of repairs than the screen prices.
