DOWDY LOOKING DART FINALLY SCORES A BULLS-EYE
The Daimler SP250 – better known as Dart to all and sundry – was a chief rival to the Healey in its day and that gem of a V8 offered similar performance but with a lot more smoothness. ‘Cloned’ upon a Triumph TR3 chassis, handling is similar but can be transformed easily enough, without diluting the Daimler’s dignified looks and temperament at the same time. The final fling C Spec models are best of all but the majority of earlier cars have been upgraded over the decades. You either like or loath those looks but you can’t deny that they are distinctive and will always remain so.
