Like the Triumph, the MG Midget is a proper traditional sports car
Low slung, with eye catching looks, just as long as it’s not the rubber bumper version like the MGB, and a great little engine. Again, like the Spitfire, the 1.3 litre engine is the pick of the bunch. Unfortunately though everyone else knows that and prices are high compared to the 1.5 litre cars. Nevertheless, the 1493cc engine is a good unit and these rubber bumpered cars are cheap buys. Spridgets are like big go-karts and handle like one. The downsides include insurance, which is usually higher than the Spitfire and the bodywork tends to rust pretty much everywhere. That’s about it, and that’s why they are at number four on my list.
