It’s a huge compliment to the Big Healey that both the TVR and the MG we feature in our twin test are trying hard to recapture the spirit and style of the old Austin. Beefy and brawny, this 1950’s sports car is a proper ‘driver’s car’ in every sense with lusty performance and show-itwho’s- boss handling. Most were two-seater convertibles but a hard top and 2+2 seating configuration were optional. Prices have soared and the trend will only continue for this classic Brit yet compared to a similar era Jaguar XK they are a bargain and one that’s backed by an excellent network of specialists and owners’ clubs.
