You don't need to win the lottery to own a magnificent mile munching coupe or cabriolet. Debate over this dozen with prices from less than five grand!

NOW A V8 GREAT

On the face of it, the Triumph Stag seems rather out of place in such exalted company and yet it isn’t really. Now nicely matured into a mellow, reliable, easy-owning roadster and coupé combined, the Stag has come good to be now the car it always should have been back in 1970. Despite V8 power, it’s smooth but sedate and that goes for the handling, too. But if you’re after a classy GT that’s super easy to own and sell, the Stag simply has to be on your shortlist but go for original Triumph power rather than the Rover V8 converts which still exist unless the job has also included the right suspension revise.
