The original supermini?
As Peugeot rely on numbers for models, there’s no direct modern counterpart for the 205 although the Frenchie is trying hard to recapture the flavour of that 1980’s supermini on its current cars. Quite right too, because the 205 provided the blueprint for superminis and it remains one of the few early 1980’s cars that feel modern on the move and make ideal cheap character- filled daily drivers. GTi models in most demand, naturally, so look for cheaper XS and limited edition cars. The 205’s forte was its ride and handling but the steering is heavy without power steering and they all lack stamina so vet cars well.
