A MORE MODERN MORGAN
In certain ways these Panthers from the 1970s have a fair bit in common with the MGR V8 and the TVR S as they are modern takes of an old theme – in this case Morgan. The Lima used a Vauxhall Viva floorpan along with its 2.3-litre engine; there was also a Turbo and automatic option, with the former best known for its acute tailhappiness! The improved Kallista replacement was similarly styled but featured a new chassis with mechanicals together with a choice of XR3 or Capri V6 power. Whatever model you go for, these Panthers are cheery, cheeky Morgan masquerades that are rarer sights yet backed with a good owners’ club.
