Don’t let the winter put you off – buying a soft top is the hottest move you’ll make in 2016!
This was the car that Healey himself designed to replace his hairy-chested sports car and, on paper, this milder mannered alternative, which looked like a Triumph Spitfire on steriods, was just right for the 1970s. A mixture of the Healey name, Jensen build and Lotus power should have been a winner but poor reliability and build, along with the mid ‘70s energy crisis, killed the car before it had the chance to redeem itself. And that’s a shame because the MkII was a admirable car and quite rightly the J-H is starting to be finally appreciated for what it is. Spares and club support is good and values, while still low, are expected to rise, so buy now if you unearth a good one.
