Whatever you’re restoring, you’ll find the bits at Beaulieu

The Beaulieu International Autojumble, the biggest outdoor sale of motoring items this side of the Atlantic, takes place on 7-8th September. Now in its 47th year, this event shows no signs of slowing: some 38,500 enthusiasts made the pilgrimage to Beaulieu for last year’s event, seeking their diverse wants on a record 2419 stands. Last year it won the Beautiful South 2012 Silver Award for the Tourism Event of the year, Awards for Excellence and was a finalist in Octane magazine’s International Historic Motoring Awards.

This year’s Autojumble looks set to be as popular as ever, with over 2000 stands booked, offering an infinite variety of motoring spares and ephemera covering all motoring eras. An eclectic mix of some 200 vehicles ranging from restoration projects to cars in concours condition will be on sale in the AutoMart in the Beaulieu Arena, while the adjoining DealerMart will offer an array of classic cars for sale.

Declares Beaulieu’s Events Manager Judith Maddox: “The Autojumble is now at capacity for stands with several standholders having exhibited at the event from its very first year in 1967. This is a real testament to the enduring appeal of the show, not just for the volume and range of goods on offer, but also as a meeting place for old friends and like-minded motoring enthusiasts.”

On Saturday, Bonhams will hold an auction of collectors’ cars, motorcycles and automobilia; entry is by catalogue only (tel: 0207 393 3900). Trunk Traders is a Sunday bonus with amateur jumblers selling their surplus motoring ephemera from the boots of their cars.

Admission on both days will be from 8.30 am, when programmes will be available to purchase and visitors are given access to the National Motor Museum, toilets and Brabazon Restaurant, where breakfast will be served. The Autojumble gates will be open between 10am-5pm on Saturday and 9.30am-4.30pm on Sunday.

On the day inclusive ticket prices are one-day adult £14.50 (Sat), £13.00 (Sun), one-day child £9.00 (Sat), and £8.70 (Sun), less if purchased in advance online at www.beaulieushop.co.uk. E-tickets are sent with the confirmation email and must be printed off and presented at the admission desk. If the e-ticket covers more than one person, they must all enter together when the ticket is presented.

Admission gives entry to the whole Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum, Bond in Motion, World of Top Gear, Beaulieu Abbey and Palace House and gardens.
